Day One of New York Trip: Visit to Brooklyn Botanical Gardens

Founded in 1910, this 52-acre garden, now at age 100, is gorgeous! There are several specialty gardens, including the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, which is the first Japanese garden to be created in an American garden!

Below, the water lilies in the Lily Pool Terrace were stunning.
I was intrigued by these aquatic plants that reminded me of a beautiful mosaic.
Here's Andrew and me in front of a tall stand of black bamboo.
And our happy family in front of a towering tree. Luckily, we had one nice day to experience the gardens before the soggy rain settled in for the remainder of our trip.
