6/17...My Birthday...29 Again!

251 West 30th Street. There are several recording studios in this building so we often rode the elevator with musicians carrying their instruments.
This morning began with a breakfast of fabulous Brooklyn bagels! Then we rode the subway in to Manhattan to see Andrew's new digs and his office - which happen to be in the same exact building! How convenient is that? Andrew and his co-worker Alex live on the 3rd floor and the office of Acolyte LED Lighting Solutions is on the 12th floor.
Living Area with W-I-D-E projection screen for watching Netflix movies and playing video games!

Favorite seating for parents who are tired of hoofing it around the city.
Our first stop on the day's itinerary was the world famous Empire State Building! We only went to the 86th floor of this iconic skyscraper because it costs an extra $15 to become a member of the elite "102 Club." As you can see, the day was turning cloudy.

So we went on an after-hours tour of the Acolyte LED Lighting Solutions office next.

The afternoon skies were getting dark with the threat of showers so we set off to explore the sights inside the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We had hoped to see sculptures by Anthony Caro on the Roof Garden but as soon as we got there, they closed that exhibit due to weather. Well, there's no shortage of art to view so we saw the exhibit Rooms With A View: The Open Window in the 19th Century, which focuses on the Romantic motif of the open window. The paintings in oil and watercolor were lovely.
Next we wandered through the Period Rooms in the American Wing and afterwards, the sensational collection of Medieval armor! But three hours in any museum is plenty so we hailed a taxi to take us back to Andrew's place since by then it was pouring!

My exciting birthday treat was going to see the Broadway revival of the musical How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette (who just won a Tony award) were irresistible! What a hilarious, exhilarating and heart-swelling performance! Daniel Radcliffe is especially charming and WOW! can he dance and sing!  This was one of my best birthdays EVER!
